What Is Stanley Winterfest?

The Stanley Winterfest is a celebration of the season! Although it may be cold outside, there are countless activities you can enjoy in the Sawtooths. This festival showcases the best parts of the season that people of all ages can enjoy.

Stanley Winterfest Activities

The Stanley Winterfest is a weekend filled with winter activities and events. Whether you are participating or would like to watch, you’ll have a blast! Enjoy everything from pub crawls to outdoor races. Here are some of our favorites:

Stanley Fatbike Fondo

Fatbikes were created for all types of terrain, so take yours out this winter for the Stanley Fatbike Fondo! Choose between the 30K and 40K race. You’ll start in the morning and be back just in time for the street festival. Rush by the gorgeous terrain of the Sawtooth Mountains as you race against the clock!

Outhouse Race

Did you ever think you would witness a dozen outhouses racing through the snow? You will during the Outhouse Race! Teams of three mount their outhouses onto skis and decorate them for race day. Then, with one team member inside, they see who can be the fastest! There are prizes for placement and the most creative outhouse decorations.

“Wild & Woolley” Drag Race

Throw on your best drag outfit and head over to Stanley! It may be cold, but that doesn’t stop everyone from racing through the street in dresses and wigs. If you aren’t a fast runner, don’t worry. There are still prizes for Drag Queen and Drag King!

Pub Crawl

The annual pub crawl kicks off the Stanley Winterfest each year. In the past, attire has been beachwear. Stop at a few bars with the crowd, then end up at the Kickoff Party! This beach-themed party is sure to get those winter blues away.

Concerts

You’ll have the opportunity for some entertainment during the Stanley Winterfest. There are usually two bands during the weekend and a kid’s concert. Being indoors and listening to some great music is a welcomed respite to the cold!
